Dallas Stars defenseman Esa Lindell will miss at least a week because of a lower-body injury, coach Glen Gulutzan said Tuesday.
Lindell, 32, was injured blocking a shot in the Stars’ 4-0 road victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.
“Esa is going to be out here for a bit,” Gulutzan said. “I would say right now probably for a week for sure and then we’ll go day to day after that.”
Lindell has no points in eight games with a plus-4 rating, two penalty minutes, 18 blocks and four hits.
He tied a career high with 32 points and set a new mark with 26 assists in 2025-26, when he played in all 82 games for the third time in four seasons. Lindell played in 80 games in 2024-25.
For his career, Lindell has 249 points (60 goals, 189 assists), a plus-172 rating, 180 penalty minutes, 1,467 blocks and 892 hits in 774 regular-season games since the 2015-16 campaign.
He also has 25 points (six goals, 19 assists) in 109 playoff games.
Dallas selected the native of Finland in the third round of the 2012 NHL Draft.
