Milwaukee and Tampa Bay are each seeking the first World Series title in franchise history.
This will be the Rays’ third appearance in the World Series after they won three consecutive games to eliminate the Guardians on Monday. Tampa Bay fell in five games to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 and in six games to the Dodgers in 2020.
The Brewers swept the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series to reach their first World Series in 44 years. Milwaukee made its only previous World Series appearance as an American League team in 1982, falling in seven games to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Milwaukee won two of the three games against visiting Tampa Bay during the regular season in a series played March 30-April 1.
